Bucks Learning Academy provides alternative and special education services for students from grades 9-12. We address a variety of issues including but not limited to: disruptive behavior, truancy, drug and alcohol abuse, family difficulties, a full spectrum of abusive issues, crisis management, low self-esteem, depression, ADD, ADHD, anxiety, conflict resolution, academic remediation, credit recovery and school phobia.

All students receive 45 minutes of therapeutic services per day in either therapeutic group or through individual counselling. Our therapeutic milieu incorporates components of Restorative Justice, Guided Group Interaction/Positive Peer Culture and Choice Theory that are interwoven into all facets of our academic and therapeutic programming.

Our program of instruction includes the four core subject areas of: Math, English, Science, and Social Studies. Health and Physical Education are also offered along with various other academic and therapeutic electives. All courses have been approved by the Pennsylvania Department of Education, and our curriculum is aligned to the State Standards. Students can earn credits toward graduation from their school of residence or they can earn credits toward graduation from Bucks Learning Academy. A Bucks Learning Academy diploma can be issued if a student meets the state standard of 21 credits in the appropriate subject areas.
